Interim Crit: Tues 13th

Concept One:
Online Service to expose young talent and help find employment.

Abstract: 'Exposure'

The theme for this project is 'Exposure'. Young designers find it increasingly difficult to start working in an industry and gain vital work experience. Any company that is looking to employ a new recruit normally ask for at least two years work experience, but where do you start? I aim to create a website to help young designers get vital exposure and connections to companies within the industry. I will create an online service allowing post-graduate designers to showcase their work and have links to their personal website or online portfolio. Companies within the industry that are interested in recruiting young talent can then register to the service and have access to students work and contact details.
I will investigate existing website that promote the same concept and document the need for such a service. I will also have to visit universities and companies within the industry to record recent post graduate employment.

Concept Two:
Create promotional work both online and off line for the London 2012 Olympic games or the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

Abstact: 'Heroes'

The Theme for this project is the idea of 'Heroes'. Originating from ancient Greece, the land of Greek methology, the Olympic games are an international multi-sport event. I aim to create an advertising campaign that will work across T.V, Radio, Online and Broadband to promote the 2012 Olympic games in London. The blood, sweat and tears, the joy of success, setbacks and failures, the people around them and the human story behind the athlete that we can all identify with - the story of a heros journey. From these moments come the magical moments we all identify with, the ones that make up our memories and the excitement of the Olympics. This is why the Olympics can resonate with our deepest emotions and send tingles down our spine. I will document past Olympic games and investigate their advertising stategies and conserntrating on the most successful. I will consider how I can promote London as a city and research how the 2012 Olympic preporations are developing. The tone of voice for this project is Epic, Universal, Inspirational, magical and thrilling and is aimed towards every man, every woman and every child.

This abstract could relate to other major sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup.
